Proposals on reducing fine dust levels in the Seoul subway

Seoul Global Challenge is launched to provide a platform for presenting innovative technology dealing with Seoul’s urban problems to global innovators(corporations, universities, research institutes, etc) and enhance the lives of citizens by utilizing innovative technology.

Challenge Topic

Proposals on reducing fine dust levels in the Seoul Subway

7.25 million people on average per day are using Seoul Metro, so it is difficult to control the air quality in Seoul Metro as it is an airtight environment located underground.
As the subway in Seoul is an important space for the life of citizen, we are looking for the innovative technologies to improve air quality and reduce the fine dust levels through the Seoul Global Challenge 2019-2020.

Qualifications for Participation

University(Graduate) students, citizens, corporations, universities, research institutes, research associations, business associations, and industry-academic consortiums who developed or possessed any product/solution with fine dust reduction technology.
- This includes individuals, corporations, universities, and research institutes, etc of foreign nationality.

    100 million KRW(1 team)

    Winners by area

    150 million KRW(3 teams, 50 million KRW per team)

2) (For teams selected for the Stage 2 Evaluation)

  • - Support through internal selection process of Seoul Innovation Growth Fund matching, and connection of public test beds and public procurement.
    ※ However, follow-up support is finalized through separate evaluation and selection processes for the individual supporting program.
  • - An exhibition booth at the “2020 Fine Dust EXPO (’Feb. 6~Feb. 8, 2020, DDP)” will be provided
  • - Support on filing intellectual property rights (1 item per team if requested)
